Hope, the Oxygen of Life

July 12, 2017

Hope is the faith-based expectation that tomorrow will be better than today. The late Emil Brunner once said, “What oxygen is for the lungs, such is hope for the meaning of human life.” As a living organism is dependent on a supply of oxygen, so a person depends on a supply of hope to stay alive. When facing a bad situation, as long as you cling on to hope, you will live to see another day, because, “HOPE does not disappoint” (Romans 5:5).

The Power of Godly Music

July 8, 2017

Music is one of God’s best gifts not only to express our passion but to restore mental health and emotional balance. David used music therapy to remedy King Saul’s depression. “…David would take a harp and play it with his hand. Then Saul would become refreshed and well, and the distressing spirit would depart from him” (1 Samuel 16:23). Johann Sebastian Bach said, “The sole object of all music should be the glory of God and pleasant recreation.” Will you add godly music to your day by singing or playing recorded music?
